i got sick of being inside last night so i ventured out into the freezing cold. a mistake maybe. but as i wander down belmont i came across my destiny at the broadway intersection. reckless. as i flipped through albums i knew i was looking for something but i wasn't sure what it was. i am sure you have had a similar experiance. sure there are a ton of records sitting in front of me that i want and would love to have for my collection but just don't have the excitement about them enough to buy them yet. i need to make a purchase that will get me going. i decided a few weeks ago that i want to start my jazz collection on vinyl only. so i have been keeping my eyes open. while scrambling through the jazz section a album cover caught my eye. a plain white cover with a black and white photo of a man leaning close to his piano. keith jarret : the koln concert. i felt like i had seen this cover before. like it was important. but why? perhaps i had run across it on RYM and was intrigued. i couldn't remember. this intrigued me. $4.99. worth my interest. so i bought it. the problem. my record player is at steve's house. suddenly steve called me. and today my record player is here. new problem. my needle is kinda messed up or finished. after about 2 minutes the sound gets really scratchy which bothers me immensely. so what am i to do. my previous searches for needles has proved fruitless. does anyone have a needle for a portable crossely record player. i would love you.
